Palm Oil Free For Life - What Are the Real Benefits?
It seems that in recent years, consumers have stopped trusting the words "natural" and "organic" on food labels. Instead of committing to sustainable palm oil alternatives, many food manufacturers and retailers have boycotted the commodity altogether, opting for cheaper vegetable or animal substitutes instead. In January of 2021, the first British supermarket to announce a zero-tolerance policy towards palm oil was Iceland. Last year in the UK, Iceland was the first major supermarket retailer to announce that it would remove palm oil completely from its-line products. Consumers were concerned about this declaration, as palm oil is used in a great number of industries, including cosmetics, shampoos, hair care products, and as an accelerant in industrial degreasing and bleaching.
